Ownership of content

All content on this site, including texts, translations, design, logo, images, program code, page structure, tables, and the algorithms for prayer times, the Hijri calendar, moon sighting, the calendar and the Qibla direction, belongs to Azangoo. All rights are reserved.

Restrictions on copying and use

Without written permission you may not copy, republish, sell, or use any part of this site in another site, app, software or content.

The prayer-time, Hijri, moon-sighting, calendar and Qibla calculations, and their algorithms and code, may not be used, imitated, rebuilt or taught anywhere else.

Automated extraction of data (scraping), mass requests to the site, reverse engineering, and using the content to train artificial-intelligence models are prohibited.

Short quotations with a credit and a link back to this site are allowed.

You may use the Azangoo prayer-times widget on your own website, as long as you load its file only from Azangoo itself, do not change it, and do not remove the Azangoo logo and link.

Accuracy of times and rulings

Prayer times and other times are calculated with astronomical and mathematical methods and may differ slightly from official announcements or local observation.

The Hijri date and moon sighting shown on the site are the site’s own calculation and an estimate; they are not an official announcement and may differ from the announcements of official bodies.

Crescent visibility is estimated with the Odeh V-criterion, an empirical rule that only estimates whether the new crescent can be seen; it is not an official announcement. A crescent calculated as visible but close to the threshold may need an optical aid to be seen.

Data and third-party sources

The city list is based on GeoNames, published under CC BY 4.0. The GeoNames credit must remain on this site.

The map uses OpenStreetMap and Leaflet. Time-zone and location lookups use Open-Meteo and timeapi.io. Weather uses Open-Meteo and MET Norway.

These sources belong to their owners and follow their own terms.

Donations

Donations are voluntary and go towards the costs of running the site. A donation does not give any ownership or advisory right.

Liability

The site is provided "as is". Azangoo is not responsible for decisions taken on the basis of the times or the calendar. The service may change or stop without notice.
